Ira Lupu

Ira Lupu is a photographer and visual artist born and raised in Odesa, Ukraine, and currently based between Kyiv and New York City. In her practice, the metaphorical and dreamy collide with the human worlds researched with forensic attention. Her work explores notions of intimacy, connection and disconnection, trauma, and ownership of the gaze. Lupu has exhibited at Manifesta Biennial, Christie’s London and Paris, Wembley Park, and Copenhagen Photo Festival, among others. Her work has been supported by Magnum Photos, Aperture, and Google, and published by the New York Times, the Economist, the British Journal of Photography, Dazed, and i-D. It is in the collections of Ethan Cohen Gallery, New York, Bonnefanten Museum, Maastricht, and Van Every/Smith Galleries, Davidson. She participated in panels and talks at Paris Photo, AIPAD, Piedmontese Institute for the History of the Resistance, Tim Hetherington Trust, and Miami University. Ewan Waddell is an award-winning British filmmaker based in Berlin and the latest recipient of the Wim Wenders Award. His films investigate elements of the modernity crisis, spanning narrative, non-fiction and experimental works. His debut documentary, The Longer You Bleed, premiered at Hot Docs 2025, was nominated for Best Documentary and the Supreme Jury Prize at the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival, and later won the esteemed FIPRESCI Prize at Beyond Borders Festival in Greece. He holds First-class Honours from Leeds University and was Valedictorian in his MA at Catalyst Institute, Berlin. Waddell is now in development for his next film, exploring the clinical research into psychedelics for trauma therapy in wartime Ukraine.
