Hybrid art-documentary project
On the Edge is a documentary art project merging journalism, photography, and spatial visual research.
At its core is Baba Olya, an elderly woman from Kostiantynivka whose life unfolds beside the frontline. Her world — goats, silence, the field, and a house divided by trenches and concrete “dragon’s teeth.” She inhabits a space where the domestic intertwines with the military, and the earth itself becomes a body of memory.
The project examines how war reshapes landscape and human presence within it — how military structures merge into everyday life, forming a new aesthetics of survival.
Through photography, sound, and text, On the Edge captures a moment of fragile balance between peace and war, routine and catastrophe — creating a visual testimony of existence at the edge of being.
